Welcome to Structure Search in the WWW Chemicals Structure Database.
This database includes now over 7,000 structures from the WWW Chemicals Catalog. In the future it
will include the entire catalog. We provide you with the unique opportunity to find a chemical supplier by simply
drawing the structure of the chemical you want.
1. Draw a structure in the Prepare query HERE using the Editor
Tools.
You might want to draw the structure of 5-Chloropentanol.
2. Search the Structure database
Click on the red button in the ‘Submit’, and the SMILES: OCCCCCCl will appear in the box..
Click on the button with an arrow. View the search results:
chemical name and CAS number in the lower frame window.
Please note that you search the database for structures that contain a drawn fragment.
Another compound in the database: 5-Chloropentyl acetate also has the OCCCCCCl fragment.
By using this feature of the search engine you can find similar chemicals.
3. Search the WWW Chemicals Catalog.
Copy the CAS number or the name by using the ‘copy’ function in the ‘edit’ menu of your browser,
and paste it in the query box. Push the retrieve button to search WWW Chemicals catalog for this chemical.
